Focus

Life can be chaotic, bombastic, and overwhelming. There’s so much activity and busy-ness and distractions swirling all around us. It’s disorienting. It’s easy to get carried away in the whirl-wind of the unimportant. It’s easy to become overly emotionally invested in trivial pursuits. It’s easy to get lost, wrapped up, and worked up in all things meaningless and not worthwhile. We almost need a grounding totem in this life. Something to redirect us back to reality and remind us what is important. We need focus.
Life is all a matter of perception. Like those optical illusion sculptures made out of garbage. Standing from one angle, it is a pile of trash. Senseless grotesque trash. But a slight shift in stance, and it reveals an intricate masterpiece. If you only focus on the bad, the ugly, imperfect, the mess, you miss the beauty, you miss the awe, and you miss the point. So many of life’s situations are multifaceted, and we limit ourselves if we fixate on the negative. “Anyone can find the dirt… Be the one who finds the gold.” ~Proverbs 11:27. Look for the good, and you will find it.

We can all find the things in our lives that are lacking, disappointing, frustrating, upsetting, flawed. We can ruminate on the negative aspects and problems in our lives and make them all encompassing. We can feel robbed and embittered and justified. We can wallow in it. But be careful. “What you focus on expands” ~Joseph Sugarman. Whatever you exert your attention on in life becomes magnified. Focus on the good. Let the bad fade away into insignificance due to your lack of attention. Magnify and amplify the good.

We become what we think about, and what you think about you bring about. This is the law of attraction. Our thoughts and emotions are a beacon to attract what we focus on into our lives. Focus on goodness and manifest it in your life. Focus on beauty and joy. Focus on happiness and peace. Focus on love and kindness. Magnify these things. Magnify hope, and magic, and miracles. Fill your head full of fluff. Overflowing beautiful wonderful fluff. The world needs that. So focus.
