Would you date you?
This is such a great question to ask yourself. Would you date you? Lets rewind back to my dating days. First let me admit that I’m a hopeless romantic. I love Hallmark movies, especially Christmas and Valentine movies. I used to love Lifetime romance movies, but they got too violent for me so now I stick to Hallmark =). When it came to dating, I was always so hopeful about anyone I met. I was so focused on perfecting the “picture” of how it was supposed to be. I remained excited about everyone I met even though the last person I had dated before them had hurt me. I was sure the next person would be perfect. After many disappointments, I knew something was not right. It was like I was doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. My friends kept telling me to stop looking, Of course I was looking. How else was I supposed to find this man? I hated that advice “stop looking”, and yes hate is a strong word.
One day I listened. I stopped looking for Mr. Right and made the best decision of my life, I chose me. I realized that this whole time I had been abandoning myself. I didn’t know who I was. I didn’t know what made me happy or what made me sad. It was time for me. It was time to focus on me. That’s the secret, to focus on yourself. Get to know YOU! Become obsess with yourself! Love yourself! How are you suppose to love someone else when you don’t love yourself? How are you supposed to get to know someone else when you don’t know yourself? You can’t give anything you don’t have. This is where the question “Would you date you?” come in place. I truly believe that the time I took to get to know myself helped me in the relationship I’m in right now. I learned so much about myself and what I wanted in a relationship. I’m not sure if I’m the right person to give advice, but this is something that helped me.

“I have never been more me, than who I am with you.” J. Iron Word
I asked my husband what it was that attracted him to me besides my good looks =) He said it was the way I was in love with my life.
It comes down to you. Date yourself. Get to know you first and always remember the way you treat yourself sets the standard for others.
